Geboren wurde Marc Theis 1953 in Luxemburg.

Er verbrachte einen Teil seiner Kindheit im französischen Metz und kehrte schließlich nach Luxemburg zurück, um an der Fachhochschule in Luxemburg-Stadt Dekorateur und Schriftenmaler zu lernen. Nach seinem Abschluss 1971 ging Marc Theis nach Stuttgart an die Adolf Lazi Fotoschule, anschließend studierte er an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Werbegrafi k. Im Alter von 23 Jahren kam Marc Theis nach Hannover, arbeitete zunächst als Fotograf an der Medizinischen Hochschule, schloss dann 1979 in Hannover sein Studium zum dipl. Grafi k-Designer ab und arbeitete 5 Jahre lang in der Werbeabteilung des Reisekonzerns TUI. Marc Theis ist seit 1983 selbständiger Fotograf in Hannover.

 

Ausgezeichnet

Marc Theis hat zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen erhalten, darunter die Goldmedaille im weltweiten Nikon- Contest. 1994 Ernennung zum „Chevalier de l´Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg“. Er hat 7 Foto- Bildbände herausgegeben und 16 Kalender veröffentlicht. Seine Arbeiten werden im In- und Ausland ausgestellt. Seine Projekte sind Strecken international anerkannter analoger Fotografi e im Kontext des 21 Jahrhunderts.

Der Luxemburger Marc Theis ist Kosmopolit. Er lebt in Hannover, schöpft Kraft in Schweden, spricht 4 Sprachen und liebt die italienische Küche. Er ist verheiratet, hat drei Töchter und ist großer Musik- und Sportfan.

Marc Theis was born in Luxembourg in 1953.

He spent part of his childhood in Metz in France, eventually returning to Luxembourg to study decoration and typography at the technical college in Luxembourg city. Following his graduation in 1971, Marc Theis went to Stuttgart where he attended the Adolf Lazi School of Photography. Afterwards he went on to study advertising art at the State Academy of Art and Design. At the age of 23, Marc Theis came to Hanover where he initially worked as a photographer at the medical college. In 1979 he graduated with a degree in graphic design in Hanover and worked for fi ve years in the advertising department of the TUI travel company. Since 1983 Marc Theis has been based in Hanover working as a freelance photographer.

 

Decorated

Marc Theis has won a number of prizes and awards, among them the gold medal in the international Nikon contest. 1994 Award: „Chevalier de l´Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg“. He has published seven of his own illustrated books and 16 photo calendars. His work has gone on show both in Germany and abroad. His projects form a series of analogue photographic works from around the world in the context of the 21st century.

 

A citizen of the world

Luxembourg-born MarcTheis lives in Hanover, but likes to reinvigorate himself with trips to Sweden. He‘s married with three daughters. He loves Italian food, enjoys travelling and is also a huge fan of music and sports.
